Christopher H. Carickhoff, Principal

Chris is a licensed architect in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He established Studio C Architecture LLC in 2018 with a strong background in architectural history and theory, a practical knowledge of construction and over 17 years of architectural experience working on commercial, residential, and hospitality projects.

Chris was a partner at a local Philadelphia architecture + design firm where he worked for 10 years on hundreds of projects of all types and sizes. He ended his tenure in order to pursue his own architecture firm. Before that, he lived in San Diego California where he worked as a project manager for a boutique architecture + design office. While working at his previous firm, Chris received his Professional Masters of Architecture degree at the Newschool of Architecture and Design in downtown San Diego.  Chris volunteered his time and served as a member of the Storefront Improvement Program in San Diego.

Before attending graduate school and working in California, Chris received his undergraduate degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Pittsburgh which afforded him the unique opportunity to study architecture throughout the world with the Semester at Sea program.  Earning credits through this global studies program involving field work and cross-cultural exposure in nine countries helped him to gain an understanding & appreciation for the architectural styles around the world. 

Chris’s passion for travel also took him throughout Europe for nearly a year where he bought and restored a sailboat and sailed throughout the Mediterranean learning to hone his sailing craft and his mastery of the French language.

Settling back in the Philadelphia area to his original roots, Chris used his skill as a carpenter to flip his own home in Narberth where he now resides. 

Overall, Chris’s experiences have given him an appreciation for the ever-changing nature of the design process and overcoming the challenges each new project brings.

Jack Carickhoff, Business Manager

Jack handles all accounting work for Studio C Architecture LLC. He is also the owner of David W. Carickhoff Accountants, Inc.

Jack earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Master of Science in Information Science from Penn State University. Prior to joining the team, Jack worked for The Vanguard Group for 20 years in various Finance and IT Leadership roles.
